Breast surgery is a surgical technique done on the breasts of a female or man (s). There are several sorts of breast procedures. Others are done for cosmetic rather than medicinal reasons (plastic surgery).

Cosmetic motives:

Well-formed and proportionate firm breasts can improve the beauty and self-confidence of a woman. Women with large breasts suffer from various physical conditions such as neck or back pain, sleep disorders and rashes. Moreover, they also suffer socially because they are at the end of unwanted looks and reviews. All these factors can cause severe emotional and mental stress leading to a depressed. Breast reduction surgery can permanently solve all these problems and restore a woman’s breast shape and aesthetic size.

Breast reduction surgery is adapted to the following situations:

Breasts too big for your body Thick, sagging breasts with very low nipples.

The size and weight of your breasts restrict physical activity.

Back, neck and shoulder pain and irritation from your breast weight.

Skin irritation and breakouts under your breasts.

Psychological distress because your breasts are so big.

One breast is a lot bigger than another.

There are broadly two options for reducing enlarged breasts.

Liposuction sucks excess fat tissue into the breast, causing the breast to shrink in size. It cannot reduce glandular tissue. When the skin tone or elasticity of the breast is low, it may result in excessive breast sagging.     Surgical breast reduction – This procedure has two varieties depending on the shape of the final scar:

a) Inverted T scar: This technique is helpful in patients with extremely large breasts with severe sagging.

b) Vertical or Lollipop scar is the gold breast reduction standard today. This is associated with shorter scars and better/more sustainable breast contours. Breast Lift: Normal and young breasts are firm with a rounded shape, and the nipple is in the centre of the chest. Breasts may lose firmness and fall back into severity due to ageing, post-lactation deflation or significant weight loss. Many women are unhappy about their collapsed breasts, loss of round contour/firmness and the empty appearance of the top of their breasts. Breast lifting is a surgery designed to lift and tighten breasts that have lost volume and collapsed.

Breast Lift surgery is adapted to the following situations:

The Breasts sag or have lost shape and volume

Breasts have a flatter, elongated shape or are pendulous

When unsupported, nipples point downward or fall below the under-breast fold

Having stretched skin and enlarged areoles

One breast is lower than the other

Drooping of breasts is known as breast ptosis, and based on the position of your nipples concerning the fold under the breasts, it is categorised into four types.

Normal: where the nipple is situated above the breast fold with good volume both above and below the nipples

Grade I: where the nipple is situated at the level of the breast fold and above most of the lower pole breast volume.

Grade II: where the nipple is situated below the level of the breast fold but still above most of the lower pole breast volume.

Grade III: where the nipple is situated below the level of the breast fold and at/below most of the lower pole breast volume.

Pseudo-ptosis: where the nipple is situated above the IMF, but breast tissue droops below the breast fold.

Severe breast sagging is also typical in patients who have experienced significant weight loss. In these cases, the breasts lost tissue volume, and the tissue and skin also lacked elasticity. This group of patients requires more advanced procedures to tighten, reshape and lift sagging tissue and skin.
