This kind of cosmetic surgery operation eliminates extra fat as well as glandular tissue from the chest in order to give it a shape that is flatter, more firm, and more manly.

Some males are predisposed to developing the appearance of larger breasts due to heredity, the use of certain drugs, or other factors that are not stated. It is believed that up to fifty percent of males in the United States may suffer gynecomastia in some form at some point in their lives. Gynecomastia may occur at any point in a man’s life, and male breast reduction surgery can be done with equal levels of safety and effectiveness on both adolescents and adult men.

Gynecomastia (sometimes called man boobs) is a relatively common condition where a boy’s or man’s breast is more significant than usual. The spectrum of the condition could spread from a small amount of extra tissue around the nipple to female breasts further forward.

Living with gynecomastia impacts cosmetic appearance, as most people are uncomfortable or embarrassed.  It causes social stigma. For younger patients, especially teenagers, this can cause severe psychological problems because their peers tease or torment them.

The condition can be treated continuously only by surgery, under local anaesthesia with sedation or general anaesthesia. It can be by liposuction, open reduction, or, most often, a combination. This depends on whether the condition is predominantly fatty, predominantly glandular or a combination of both.

Liposuction is always performed as part of the surgical treatment to remove the excess breast fat and shred the glandular tissue. If the gland tissue is significant or too firm/hard, it must be removed by open excision. Excess loose skin after surgery is generally permitted to shrink as much as possible using compression garment support.

Male breast reduction surgery will restore a natural male look to your chest. With a firmer, flatter and more fit chest, the patient feels more confident with considerably increased self-esteem.
